Kettlebell Christmas Workout

The 12 Days Of Christmas Workout has become a tradition here at House Of Strength. We’re always up for a physical challenge – anytime, anywhere! So here’s one for YOU – our 2013 edition of the 12 Days of Christmas Kettlebell Workout!

The Story Behind The Workout

The idea for the 12 Days Of Christmas Workout originally came from our friend Andy Shields. He shared this idea with us last year when we were in our first location inside Roanoke Barbell Club. The idea was so cool, EliteFTS even published the article HERE!

This year, our awesome members surprised me at our HOS Christmas party with a collection of new Kettlebells (see above picture)! And Coach Tyler came up with this beauty of a challenge as a “THANK YOU”! Check it out – and take it for a test run if you dare – but be warned, it’s MUCH different in person than it is on paper (or computer screen)…


You know the Christmas song…

  • 1st day
  • 2nd day, 1st day
  • 3rd day, 2nd day, 1st day

See the pattern?

You’ll do the same with these exercises – all using a kettlebell. (In case you can’t see the festive writing inside the tree on our blackboard, the moves are listed below)

  1. Turkish Get Up
  2. Clean & Press (2 per arm)
  3. Deadlift + High Pull
  4. Lunges (4 per leg)
  5. Russian Twists
  6. Goblet Squats
  7. Pushups (1 hand on KB)
  8. 1-arm Thrusters (4 per side)
  9. Reverse Crunch (w/ KB)
  10. Figure 8′s
  11. Slasher-to-Halo (draw the breast cancer awareness ribbon)
  12. 1-arm Swing (12/side)

So it looks like this:

  • Round 1 = 1 TGU per side
  • Round 2 = 2 clean & press per side, then 1 TGU per side
  • Round 3 = 3 Deadlift +High Pulls, 2 Clean & press per side, then 1 TGU per side
  • All the way to Round 12…
